This trip will take you to the Coral Triangle of North Sulawesi, renowned for its incredible coral reefs and marine biodiversity, and to the Tangkoko Nature Reserve, where Sir Alfred Russel Wallace dedicated significant time to his pioneering work in biogeography, which led to the formulation of the Wallace Line theory.
Located near the Wallace Line, an imaginary boundary separating Asian and Australian fauna, Tangkoko hosts a unique blend of species. To the west of the line, species exhibit similarities to those from Asia, while to the east, they share characteristics with Australian fauna. This rich biodiversity provides valuable insights into evolution and distribution.
Departure & Return Location: Denpasar, Bali. Our flight from Denpasar will be departing in the morning and arriving in the afternoon in Manado, North Sulawesi.
